2期は2A期および2B期に分かれる。2A期では腫瘍が一領域にのみ認められ、手術において肉眼で確認できる腫瘍全部を完全に摘出できない。2B期では腫瘍が一領域にのみ認められ、手術において肉眼で確認できる腫瘍全部を完全に摘出しうるが、周辺のリンパ節にがん細胞が認められる。
