【原文】barium swallow
食道の一連のX線撮影。対象者がバリウム溶液を飲んだ後にX線写真が撮影される。食道を覆うバリウムによって、X線画像上に食道の形が映し出される。「esophagram（食道影像）」、「upper GI series（上部消化管撮影）」とも呼ばれる。
食道造影。飲み込まれたバリウム溶液は食道をつたって胃へ流れ込む。X線撮影を行い、異常な部位を探す。
