コンピュータ断層撮影法。異なる角度から体内領域の精細な画像を連続して撮影する技術で、画像はX線装置に接続されたコンピューターによって作成される。「computed tomography scan（コンピュータ断層撮影法）」、「computerized tomography（コンピュータ断層撮影）」、「computerized axial tomography scan（コンピュータX線体軸断層撮影法）」、「CAT scan（CATスキャン）」とも呼ばれる。
