II期はIIA期とIIB期に分かれる。IIA期では、皮膚表面に斑かプラーク（異常組織の領域）またはその両方がみられる。リンパ節が大きくなるものの、リンパ節までがんが拡がっているということはない。IIB期では、皮膚上に1つまたは複数の腫瘍（悪性細胞の塊）が発見される。リンパ節は大きくなることがあるものの、リンパ節までがんが拡がっているということはない。II期はまた、血液中にみられる異常なリンパ球（白血球）の数によっても分類できる。
