【原文】epidermoid carcinoma
魚の鱗のように見える薄く平らな細胞である扁平上皮細胞から生じるがん。扁平上皮細胞は皮膚の表面を形作っている組織や体の管膣臓器壁、呼吸器また消化管の通路内に認められる。「squamous cell carcinoma(扁平上皮がん)」とも呼ばれる。
