乳がんは切除するが乳房そのものは切除しない手術。乳房温存手術には、腫瘤摘出術（しこりを切除）、乳腺1/4切除術（乳房の1/4または4分円を切除）、乳腺区域切除術（がんとその周囲の乳房組織の一部、腫瘍下の胸筋を覆う膜を切除）がある。「breast-sparing surgery（乳房温存手術）」とも呼ばれる。
乳房温存手術。腫瘍がある箇所（点線部）を切除し、またリンパ節の一部（点線部）を切除する場合もある。
