BRM療法。がんや感染症を始めとする疾患への免疫力を促進したり回復させたりする治療法。一部のがん治療により生じうる特定の副作用を軽減する目的でも用いられる。生物学的反応修飾物質療法で使用される薬剤には、モノクローナル抗体、成長因子、ワクチンなどがある。これらの薬剤には直接的な抗腫瘍作用をもつものもある。「immunotherapy（免疫療法）」、「biological therapy（生物学的療法）」、「biotherapy（生物療法）」、「BRM therapy（BRM療法）」とも呼ばれる。
