栄養膜細胞（子宮への胚の付着と胎盤の形成を助ける細胞）から発生する一群の腫瘍。妊娠性絨毛腫瘍の主要なものとしては2種類が存在し、胞状奇胎と絨毛がんがそれである。「gestational trophoblastic disease（妊娠性絨毛疾患）」とも呼ばれる。
