がん組織とともに、腫瘍周辺の一部の乳房組織と腫瘍の下方にある胸部の筋肉を覆っている組織層を併せて切除する手術。通常は、わきの下にあるリンパ節の一部も切除される。「segmental mastectomy（乳管腺葉区域切除術）」とも呼ばれる。
