乳房の乳管から細胞を集める方法。毛髪程度の太さのカテーテル（管）を乳頭に挿入し、少量の食塩水を乳管内に入れる。乳腺細胞が入った食塩水を抜き取る。採取した細胞を顕微鏡で調べる。乳管洗浄細胞診は、乳がんを発見するために、乳房視触診やマンモグラフィーに加えて実施する場合がある。
